Virginia Energy Plan 2007

The 2007 Virginia Plan establishes goals to: a) reduce the rate of growith of energy use by 40% by 2017, and increase Virginia's indigenous energy production by 20% by 2017; b) reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by 30% by 2025 (back to 2000 levels); and, c) capitalize on economic development opportunities through business expansion and increased research and development (R&D) in areas of strength, including coastal energy production. The plan encourages all cost-effective, environmentally responsible development of Virginia's offshore wind resources.
