Durham, NH Town Council Supports Efforts to Develop Wind Power Off the NH Coast

The Durham Town Council adopted Resolution #2017-21 supporting efforts to develop wind power off the New Hampshire coast, and urging Governor Sununu to make a formal request to the Federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to form a Task Force and stakeholder process to plan for regional offshore wind development in the Gulf of Maine. 

 

The resolution passed by a 7 - 1 majority. Durham is the first community in the Seacoast region (southeast area of NH) to pass such a measure.
