Executive Summary of Cape Wind Draft EIS/EIR/DRI

The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) prepared the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the proposed Cape Wind energy project, in response to a permit application to fulfill the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the USACE implementing regulations. The document was submitted to comply with three environmental review processes: in addition to NEPA, the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA), and the Cape Cod Commission Act. The alternatives analysis includes a no-action alternative, an assessment of alternative energy generating technologies including renewable energy technologies, a comparison of upland and offshore wind farm sites, and an assessment of submarine and upland cable routes.
