
The report summarizes anticipated effects of climate change on the built environment, natural ecosystems, and human health. To achieve the Governorメs greenhouse gas emission target of 30% below the business-as-usual projection of emissions by 2025, the Commission recommended that Virginia increase energy efficiency and conservation; advocate for comprehensive federal climate change legislation; expand commuter choice and transportation system efficiency; increase fuel efficiency; accelerate clean technology research and development; increase use of renewable and emissions-free energy sources; promote carbon capture and storage technology; and, lead by example through public building renovations and vehicle usage.
