Governor's Commission on Climate Change- Final Report: A Climate Change Action Plan

The report summarizes anticipated effects of climate change on the built environment, natural ecosystems, and human health. To achieve the Governorﾒs greenhouse gas emission target of 30% below the business-as-usual projection of emissions by 2025, the Commission recommended that Virginia increase energy efficiency and conservation; advocate for comprehensive federal climate change legislation; expand commuter choice and transportation system efficiency; increase fuel efficiency; accelerate clean technology research and development; increase use of renewable and emissions-free energy sources; promote carbon capture and storage technology; and, lead by example through public building renovations and vehicle usage.
