Description:
The study evaluated the reliability, economic, and environmental impacts of integrating different combinations of wind energy over a 20-year period. The scenarios included up to 12,000 MW of wind resources, including 4,500 MW of offshore wind. The study also describes conceptual transmission configurations to integrate these resources in New England. The results showed that integrating offshore wind resources result in the most cost effective use of new and existing transmission.
