State Profile

Massachusetts has the largest technical offshore wind potential by wind speed, according to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Two BOEM commercial wind energy leases were auctioned in 2015, one to OffshoreMW, LLC and the other to RES America Developments, Inc. The latter has sold its development rights to DONG Energy.
